Description
Any curry prepared in a Balti dish or bowl, a wok-like cooking pot built of thinly pressed steel, is referred to as a Balti curry. There is no definitive ingredients list linked with the Balti because it is named after the utensil used to prepare it. Nonetheless, there are several characteristics that all Balti’s share. Chicken Tikka Balti is stir-fried over high heat in vegetable oil rather than ghee. Any boneless meat can be used, and the sauce is typically made with onions, garlic, turmeric, and garam masala. Lamb and chicken are the typical meats used in Balti’s, but pork and prawns are also prevalent.
